Mission

Silent Knowledge is about building and healing communities by seeking knowledge over vengeance. The program restores identity by helping children unlearn the impact of colonization, apartheid-forced removal, and race categorization.

Building Identity, Knowledge, and Belief

The program fosters empathy, broadens perspectives on the world, and deepens appreciation for personal beliefs. Its core teachings—identity, knowledge, and belief—help participants develop a stronger sense of self and purpose within their communities.

Challenging Social Norms for Change

Founded to support the youth of the Cape Flats, Silent Knowledge aims to dismantle harmful social structures while promoting reconnection with nature, peers, and self. Its reflective narrative-making process is rooted in the constitutionally protected rights of all South Africans, emphasizing participation, protection, provision, and prevention as outlined in the South African Children’s Act.

Empowering At-Risk Communities

Silent Knowledge assists individuals from communities affected by poverty, crime, unemployment, gangsterism, and drug abuse. The program educates community members, social workers, and organizations on community rights, obligations, and methods of self-reflection and connection to support sustainable development.
