A Unique Solution to Community Development Challenges

Silent Knowledge is a course based in Cape Town, South Africa. It is designed for young community members facing socio-economic issues that haven’t been solved by conventional social services. We educate participants on the origins of the issues they face and provide the tools to navigate the complex system of aid organizations. The Silent Knowledge program fosters reflection, [re]connection, and change.

Reconnecting

Nature plays a crucial role in the Silent Knowledge Program by offering a transformative and healing space for participants. Through activities like hiking and environmental education, individuals can reconnect with the natural world, experiencing its calming effects. This connection fosters personal growth, environmental responsibility, and valuable life skills.

Learning

In the Silent Knowledge program, learning holds immense significance as it empowers individuals to create positive transformations in their lives. Through education, participants acquire vital skills, broaden their understanding, and break free from cycles of violence. By embracing learning, they equip themselves with the necessary tools to make informed choices, enhance their self-esteem, and make constructive contributions to their communities.

Navigating

The Silent Knowledge program empowers young people and gives them the tools and skills to escape societal norms and find a new life for themselves. Students who complete the program leave with a newfound understanding of how to navigate communities and NGO’s (non-governmental organization). They are able to apply the personal skills from the program to this navigation of the complex life and communities they find on the cape.
